On the occasion of World Environment Day 2019 with the theme of Air Pollution, SCCN launched the Air Quality Monitoring Station in MIT World Peace University that will measure air quality index within 5 Km radius. The students of MITWPU also developed a mobile app for real time monitoring of air quality with messages for preventive and corrective actions. This is a research-based initiative of integrating Air Quality with health advisories under SCCN and technical support of Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM). On the same occasion, MITWPU also released its Annual Campus Sustainability Report 2019 (first was released in 2018) under SCCN initiative.
